1. WHAT WE COLLECT
Order data. Your name, delivery address, billing address, email address, phone number, the products you ordered, the amount paid and the payment method used.
Account data. If you create an account, your name, email address, encrypted password, saved addresses and your order history.
Communication data. The messages you send us by email or phone and our replies, so that we can follow up on your question.
Newsletter data. Your email address and, if you gave it, your first name, if you signed up for our newsletter.
Technical data. Your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the pages you visited on our site, the page you came from and the time of your visit. This is collected automatically by the server and is used in aggregated form.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under sixteen. Our store is not aimed at them.
2. WHY WE USE IT AND ON WHAT BASIS
To process and deliver your order, to take payment, to send order confirmations and tracking information, and to handle returns and refunds. Legal basis: performance of the contract with you.
To answer your questions and handle complaints. Legal basis: performance of the contract or our legitimate interest in helping our customers.
To keep our accounts and meet tax obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation.
To send our newsletter. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
To keep the website working, secure and free from fraud and abuse, and to understand in general terms how it is used so we can improve it. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.
3. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We share personal data only with parties that need it to do their job for us, and only as far as they need it. These are:
The company that hosts our online store and processes orders through it.
Our payment providers, who handle the transaction. We never see or store your full card details.
Our fulfilment partners in Germany and France, who pack and dispatch your order.
The carriers who deliver your parcel and, where relevant, handle a return.
The service we use to send email, if you have subscribed to our newsletter.
Our accountant, and the tax authorities where the law requires it.
Each of these acts on our instructions under an agreement that requires them to protect your data. Where a party is outside the European Economic Area, we only use it if appropriate safeguards are in place.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data to third parties for their own marketing.
4. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
Order, invoice and payment records are kept for seven years, because Dutch tax law requires it.
Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove it, except for anything we must keep under the seven year rule above.
Emails and other correspondence are kept for as long as they are useful for handling your case and any follow up, and then deleted.
Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
Technical and log data is kept for a short period and then deleted or aggregated so that it can no longer be traced back to you.
5. COOKIES
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device so it can recognise your browser on a later visit.
Necessary cookies keep the site working. They remember what is in your basket, keep you logged in during a session and make checkout function. These cannot be switched off, because the store would not work without them.
Functional cookies remember preferences such as your language.
Analytical cookies help us see, in aggregate, which pages are visited and where people run into trouble.
Marketing cookies may be used to show you our products on other websites after you have visited ours.
You can accept or refuse the optional categories through the cookie notice on our site, and you can change your mind later. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block all cookies, parts of the store, including checkout, may stop working properly.
6. SECURITY
Our website uses an encrypted connection, so the data you send at checkout travels securely. Access to customer data is limited to the two of us who run Foxujm and to the service providers listed above. We use strong, separate passwords for the systems we work with.
No system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to present a risk to you, we will inform you and the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens as the law requires.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to:
ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy
have incorrect data corrected
have your data deleted, where we are not required to keep it
restrict or object to how we process your data
receive your data in a portable format
withdraw your consent at any time, for example for the newsletter
unsubscribe from marketing email, which you can also do with the link at the bottom of every newsletter
Send your request to info@foxujm.com and we will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your data to someone else.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl. We would appreciate the chance to fix it first.
8. CHANGES
We may update this policy when our store or the law changes. The current version is always on www.foxujm.com with the date of the last update at the top.
